The future, is niche.
Everything we do, everything we focus on, is becoming more & more hyper focused and more and more fine tuned. As ideas, entrepreneurial paths & concepts all expand; we need to become hyper niche in our approach to things. Or at least, those of us that function best in that space do.
Rental subscription models are beginning to roll out thru companies like
Urban Outfitters & American Eagle. As well as some others. This shift in business model is becoming more of a “thing”, as these changes have only occurred in the past few months. Rent the Runway has also been around for awhile now & they have been under going a lot of business model changes as well. In order to catch the ep & flow of consumer demand.
Being more niche’ within the rental space (like companies that focus on dresses etc), allows you to find the best companies that fit your needs as a consumer. Having a large massive rental company (like RTR attempted to do) just isn’t eco-friendly, or sustainable business wise long term. Doesn’t mean there can’t be partnerships or affiliates done between companies tho, or more creative ways to make their business models more efficient.
But over all, my census, is that rental & subscription model’s will continue to be in an “experimental” phase for several more years, as this new business model starts to gain a kind of permanency within the industry.
